AXA has launched a report looking at four key aspects of women’s lives and the risks they face.
The report, “It’s a woman’s world,” is designed to demonstrate AXA’s commitment to providing the insurance products women need to succeed.
Despite women being catalysts for social change and economic progress, women are often overlooked by insurers, according to the report.
“That potential is impeded by gender inequality and discrimination globally. By better serving the needs of women – be that financial, health, or otherwise – we have an opportunity to drive further change and progress,” it said.
In addition to the report, AXA is financing academic research into social, economic, and environmental risks affecting women, designing products and services specifically for women, and by partnering with other organisations to reduce barriers they face.
Thomas Buberl, CEO of AXA, said: “We know that women are disproportionally impacted by risks, and our mission is to understand and reduce those risks to support them in achieving their aspirations.”
The report also outlines AXA’s own commitment to a diverse workplace, reporting 56% of AXA’s board of directors are women.
The research has been released alongside a video message from Garance Wattez-Richard, CEO of AXA Emerging Customers.
It is a follow-up to AXA’s 2018 “Report Unleashing the Power of Women” and “SHEforSHIELD” report in 2015. It looks at four key aspects of women’s lives and the risks they face.
