The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has launched an “insurance influencer” campaign to fill the insurance industry’s talent gap.
The campaign targets young people looking for a career change and showcases the variety of different opportunities that exist in the insurance sector.
CII’s 2022/23 New Generation Programme Broking group said the launch of the campaign aims to dispel the common misconceptions of the industry and present it as exciting and fulfilling.
The campaign assets – videos, flyers, and images – are freely available to insurers and have already been adopted by a range of firms for recruitment purposes, including Howden, Partners&, Romero, and Yutree.
Russell Higginbotham, president of CII, said: “Attracting top talent to the insurance sector sees us compete with many other industries, and this work represents an excellent opportunity for growth.”
The campaign highlights the roles in the sector that the general public might be unaware of, such as festivals, farming, renewable energy, and cyber.
The programme gives insurance professionals with five or more years’ experience the opportunity to work on a project or initiative that they believe could make a different to the insurance profession.
This year’s New Generation Programme Broking cohort includes individuals from Gallagher, Liberty, Marsh, NFU Mutual, and WTW.
