HSBC has been announced as the official retail bank of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, which will be held in England from 22 August to 27 September across eight venues.
Announced 100 days before the tournament begins, the partnership builds on HSBC’s 14-year history of supporting global rugby events and initiatives, including its title sponsorship of HSBC SVNS.
The partnership also reinforces HSBC’s core ambition to champion the growth of women’s sport worldwide. To date, the bank’s support for women’s rugby has centred on boosting the game’s visibility and inspiring the next generation, including backing grassroots programmes that have introduced over 500,000 young people to rugby.
In addition to helping players and fans deepen their connection to the sport, HSBC will use the Women’s Rugby World Cup as a platform to support financial wellbeing. It will offer engaging activities for young fans as well as tailored financial education sessions for players.
Becky Moffat, head of customer for HSBC UK, said: “Rugby’s values of integrity, passion and respect resonate with HSBC and our customers. From grassroots to the global stage, our aim is to support the growth of rugby – helping players, fans and communities achieve their ambitions both on and off the pitch.”
