PayPal has rolled out an ad campaign featuring Will Ferrell, alongside a competition, to showcase the benefits of using PayPal and PayPal Pay Later, particularly following recent updates to the service.
The ad campaign, which launches later this month, stars Ferrell as he embarks on a shopping adventure to highlight the various payment options available with PayPal, including the Pay Later feature at merchants that accept PayPal.
The campaign also highlights several updates designed to make checkout with PayPal quicker and more seamless. For example, consumers can now speed through checkout with less friction due to biometric logins and faster page load times, which have reduced latency by over 40%.

“With millions of consumers selecting PayPal every day, we’re committed to raising the bar and delivering an incredible, flexible, and rewarding experience that connects our customers to the things they want and love.”
PayPal has also launched ‘The Great PayPal Checkout’, the company’s biggest sweepstakes to date. The company will be giving away up to $10 million to customers who check out with PayPal, with 1,000 winners each day receiving up to $100 towards their purchases for 100 days when using PayPal checkout.
Will Ferrell said: “I love surprises. So naturally, I boarded a plane to shout about PayPal’s sweepstakes from 30,000 feet. But don’t look away, there’s more to come next week – I might even sing again, who knows.”
The ad campaign builds on the successful ongoing partnership between PayPal and Will Ferrell, following the release of PayPal’s largest-ever US ad campaign in September, which also starred Ferrell.
In the ad, Ferrell learns he can use the PayPal Debit Mastercard in stores and earn rewards. The campaign aimed to showcase how easy, safe and rewarding it is to shop with PayPal and the PayPal Debit Mastercard, both in-store and online.
