The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Royal Highland Show, reinforcing its dedication to supporting Scottish farming.
The bank first started sponsoring the show in 1981. Ahead of this year’s event, which is expected to attract around 200,000 visitors, it announced the renewal of its partnership, extending the sponsorship for an additional three years until 2018.
During the four-day event, RBS will use its presence to highlight businesses that leverage modern data, research and cross-sector expertise to generate new opportunities for farming in Scotland.
The partnership reinforces RBS’s commitment to supporting Scottish farming, as the bank remains one of the largest backers of the sector. With a team of nearly 30 agricultural specialists across the country, RBS collaborates closely with key organisations such as the Scottish Association of Young Farmers and RSABI.
Judith Cruickshank, chair of the Scotland Board at RBS, said: “The Royal Highland Show is synonymous with the success, history and longevity of Scotland’s agriculture sector and we are delighted to announce the extension of our support on the eve of this year’s event,
“Agriculture is hugely important to Scotland’s economy and, as the biggest lender to the sector it is important that as a bank we do everything that we can to help those operating within the industry through our team of agricultural specialists who understand the unique issues the industry here faces.”
