Thales has showcased a set of solutions designed to help banks augment their legacy solutions at Seamless 2023.
The modular product suite will help the big banks to “play catch up with start ups” when it comes to digital user experience.
In an interview with Financial Promoter, Christine Blattes, banking marketing manager, and Anthony Lloyd-Perks, digital sales director, discussed Thales’ set of solutions “D1.”
“D1 takes the old model of card issuance and turns it on its head to create modern user experiences on behalf of banks.
“Banks who are struggling with their back-office systems can’t provide the same level of real-time data as the start ups because they have these legacy platforms,” said Lloyd-Perks.
The product will also help start ups to “start up” by instantly issuing cards in a digital wallet.
Thales is also pushing its ESG initiative at this year’s conference, promoting cards made from wood, metal, and recycled plastic from the ocean, added Blattes.
Seamless is one of the largest financial services conferences in the world and is being held in Berlin for the first time on 18 and 19 October.
