Chancellor Rachel Reeves has ordered a review of the Treasury’s media operations.
Reeves has tasked Helen Bower-Easton, communications director at the Financial Conduct Authority, with leading a six-week review aimed at strengthening Treasury communications.
The review will focus on improving how the Treasury communicates the government’s growth plans, public service priorities, and the broader financial context, particularly as Reeves seeks to shift the narrative away from past tax hikes.
Bower-Easton will also explore how different media channels can be used to shape public opinion, alongside assessing staffing levels within the Treasury’s press team.
