UK Finance has launched a new TV advert as part of its “Reach Out” campaign.
Alongside the 30-second advert is a newly recorded version of the memorable Four Tops track “Reach Out (I’ll Be There).”
The campaign goes back to basics with a simple message for homeowners to “reach out” to their bank if they’re struggling to make repayments.
In a press release, Giles Mason, director, campaigns at UK Finance, said the campaign is particularly aimed at borrowers coming off a fixed-rate deal who are concerned about higher monthly repayments.
“We want to ensure people know that their lender is ready to help. We’re delighted to be launching this new TV advert with the simple message of reach out if you need support,” said Mason.
The TV ad is the latest release in UK Finance’s multimedia “Reach Out” campaign and follows the release of content via out-of-home, print, radio, and digital channels.
The £5 million campaign comes at a time when mortgage rates are on the rise, with many banks and lenders signing up to the government-led “Mortgage Charter” initiative aimed at providing support for borrowers.
The press release said 90% of mortgage lenders in the market have signed up to the initiative, which is being supported by the Financial Conduct Authority.
UK Finance represents more than 300 firms across the banking and finance industry.
