Virgin Money has partnered with UK-based mental health charity Mind to raise vital funds for the charity’s work.
The bank will be taking on a variety of fundraising activities and challenges and its colleagues will be offering their skills to provide pro-bono financial support.
James Peirson, general counsel and purpose officer at Virgin Money, said the firm understands the impact financial difficulties can have on mental health and how mental health problems can affect financial management.
“It’s important that we do all we can to create an inclusive banking experience and offer additional support for those who may need it, which is why we’re proud to be working with Mind and SAMH and are confident that together we can make a difference,” said Peirson.
Virgin Money will also be raising awareness of the charity by supporting colleagues, customers, and communities to have open and honest discussions around mental health.
The bank’s colleagues voted for Mind as its chosen charity partner due to the vital impact the charity has on the people using the service, Peirson added.
The partnership will allow the charity to provide support services, such as its confidential phone service, Mind Infoline, and online peer support service, said Jack Matthews, associate director of fundraising at Mind.
