Mastercard has signed on as the official naming partner of the McLaren Formula One Team, ending McLaren’s run as the only team without a title sponsor on the grid.
From the 2026 season, the team will be known as the McLaren Mastercard Formula One Team.
As part of the partnership, Mastercard will launch ‘Team Priceless’ to reinforce its fan-first commitment. The global initiative is designed to provide McLaren fans with greater access to the action throughout the race calendar, with a curated programme of activities.
For example, on select race days, chosen fans will be treated to experiences ranging from hot laps and driver meet-and-greets to ‘Priceless Experiences’ showcasing the host city’s culture.
Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer at Mastercard, said: “Our partnership has been grounded in putting fans in pole position since day one, and becoming the Official Naming Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team takes that commitment to the next level,”
“McLaren Racing represents the pinnacle of innovation, precision, and performance, values that mirror our own as we push boundaries and deliver winning experiences. Collaborations like Team Priceless reflect those values and give fans plenty to look forward to for this season and many more.”
Mastercard marked the launch of the partnership with a live fan event in Amsterdam ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, featuring appearances from drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri alongside live music and other activities.
This partnership builds on Mastercard’s role as McLaren’s global payments leader, a position it has held since July 2024.
With the new partnership, Mastercard follows other financial brands with naming sponsorships, including. This includes competitor Visa, which backs the Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team.
