Monzo is tackling financial literacy with the release of a personal finance book, offering straightforward, jargon-free advice designed to be accessible and relevant to everyone.
Although the bank is known for its digital-only approach to finance, Monzo has produced a physical book titled ‘The Book of Money,’ aimed at demystifying financial topics.
The book draws on a decade of customer conversations and offers an accessible, jargon-free guide that breaks down complex topics into bite-sized insights and shares strategies proven effective by Monzo’s customers.
The information is designed to be applicable for any customer’s situation whether they’re just starting out, starting over or setting up a family.
It covers a wide range of topics such as why investing isn’t just for millionaires, practical tips for renters and guidance on the home buying process as well as how to navigate sharing finances, whether that be a flatmate or fiancée.
The book features illustrations, infographics, quizzes and practical exercises to make the information more accessible and engaging.
The launch of the book comes off the back of Monzo’s research, which revealed that half (51%) of Britons feel they are not reaching their financial potential due to a lack of money knowledge.
Meanwhile, 72% of under-34s feel financially held back and 63% of adults say thinking about money leaves them anxious or overwhelmed.

The research also revealed a gap in practical guidance, with nearly two in five (39%) reporting they have never been taught about money in a way that feels relevant or achievable.
Monzo will donate all royalties from the book launch to Money Ready, a financial education charity that supports 50,000 people annually.
