Bupa, the health insurance and healthcare company, has strengthened its commitment to health, access and inclusion through a partnership with Tennis Australia.
As part of the agreement, Bupa will become the official healthcare and digital health partner of the Australian Open, as well as a supporting partner of All Abilities Day, held during the tournament.
The company will also serve as presenting partner of the inaugural All Abilities Week, which celebrates inclusive tennis for people with disabilities and highlights the coaches, clubs and communities driving accessibility across Australia.
The partnership aligns Bupa’s brand purpose with one of the country’s most high-profile sporting events, positioning it at the intersection of health, wellbeing and community engagement.
With health, wellbeing and inclusivity a priority for a growing number of Australians, the alignment is a natural alignment between Bupa and Tennis Australia.
Bupa aims to use the collaboration to highlight how sport can play a vital role in improving overall health and wellbeing. Tennis, in particular, has been shown to deliver physical, mental and social benefits, with regular play helping to manage weight and lower the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and certain cancers.
Research has also found that tennis players tend to live longer than those who jog, cycle or do calisthenics, while playing just three hours a week can halve the risk of heart disease.
Nick Stone, CEO for Bupa APAC, said: “Through the Open, we want to encourage Australians to take steps towards healthier lifestyles and showcase how technology, including on our Blua platform, can make healthcare more accessible, connected and personalised.”
The partnership also brings direct value to Bupa customers, with Bupa offering two-for-one Ground Passes during selected days of the tournament, including All Abilities Day on 27 January 2026.
