AA Insurance has launched the eighth instalment of its ‘Live a Little Freer’ brand platform, showcasing how New Zealanders can enjoy peace of mind knowing they’re protected against all possibilities.
The campaign, which centres on a new home insurance spot, dramatises the everyday ‘what-if’ scenarios that often play on homeowners’ minds when they leave the house.
In a playful twist, these worries are brought to life through Celia, an animated seal pup, who enters a home through a dog flap and inadvertently wreaks havoc by flooding the bathroom, carrying water throughout the house and even causing electrical issues.
The spot cuts to the homeowners relaxing on the beach, with one wondering, “Did I lock the dog door?” and the other replying, “I’m sure it will be fine.”
The scenario is inspired by a true story from 2022, when a young seal wandered into a family home in Mount Maunganui through their cat door.
The campaign underscores AA Insurance’s messaging that homeowners are protected against even the most unexpected—and absurd—events.
