Allianz UK has become an official supporter of the Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025, securing the tournament’s first-ever international stadium naming rights deal.
Announced on the first anniversary of the Allianz Stadium naming, the venue is confirmed as the official ‘Stadium of the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final 2025.’
Allianz first secured naming rights to Twickenham Stadium, which is known as the home of England Rugby, through a partnership with the Rugby Football Union in August 2024. The stadium then rebranded to the Allianz Stadium the following month.
The stadium sponsorship marked Allianz’s eighth stadium naming agreement, joining a global portfolio that includes the Allianz Arena in Munich, Allianz Parque in São Paulo and the recently reopened multi-purpose venue in Sydney.
As part of the Women’s Rugby World Cup’s purpose-led activation strategy, ‘The Road to Allianz Stadium’ has launched in partnership with global fan engagement platform Steathlon.
The initiative challenges fans to walk the equivalent of the 275-mile journey from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, host of the opening match, to the Allianz Stadium, where the final will be held. The goal is to inspire fans to get active and build excitement ahead of the tournament.
Both the stadium naming rights sponsorship and the new partnership with the Women’s Rugby World Cup reinforce Allianz’s ongoing support for both the men’s and women’s national rugby teams, as well as its investment in youth development pathways.
Allianz has long committed to supporting grassroots rugby clubs across the UK, primarily through the Allianz Future Fund, which offers grants of £500 to £3,000 to local clubs. To date, 87 grants have been awarded, totalling £100,000 in funding.
