American Express is preparing to have a significant brand presence in Austin this month as it activates across both weekends of the Austin City Limits Festival and the Formula One Grand Prix.
The brand will run a series of high-profile experiences for its Platinum and Centurion Card Members, aiming to reinforce its position as the go-to card for access and exclusivity.
At the Austin City Limits Festival, Amex will host its “Amex Experience”, which features interactive photo booths, magnetic dart games, and festival-inspired merchandise.
Card Members can enjoy exclusive perks such as customisable crossbody bags, a dedicated merch “Fast Lane” and access to the members-only Amex Side-Stage Lounge, complete with a bolo-tie customisation station.
Amex is also presenting “ACL Fest Nights,” a series of official after-shows extending the festival experience beyond the main stage.
During the Formula One Grand Prix weekend, the brand will host the “Amex Fan Experience,” inviting visitors to design their own car livery, record driver intro videos, and take Texas-themed photos.
Card Members will have access to exclusive cooling towels and popsicles from local vendor Cold Ones Pops at the Amex Pit Stop.
Amex is also encouraging Card Members travelling for these events to book stays at more than 20 Austin hotels in its “Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection” programme, which offers exclusive benefits. By linking its event activations with premium travel perks, Amex is positioning itself as a card that delivers seamless, elevated experiences from arrival to departure.
