CME Group has been named the first-ever jersey patch sponsor of the Chicago White Sox, marking a new commercial milestone for the Major League Baseball franchise.
Under the terms of the partnership, the derivatives marketplace becomes the team’s inaugural jersey patch sponsor and official global exchange partner.
The CME Group logo will appear on the White Sox’s home, road and alternate jerseys, including the MLB Nike City Connect uniform, across all spring training, regular season and postseason games.
The logo treatment will vary across uniforms. On the home pinstripes, the blue CME Group logo will sit on a white background with a black border and black lettering. Road grey jerseys will feature the blue logo on a matching grey background, again with black lettering, while the City Connect and alternate black jerseys will carry the blue logo on a black background with white CME lettering.
Beyond the jersey patch, the agreement includes prominent fixed signage behind home plate at Rate Field during home games, alongside a range of additional promotional opportunities.
CME Group chairman and chief executive officer Terry Duffy said the partnership was a natural fit because partnering with a team known for grit, achievement and perseverance aligns strongly with the CME Group brand.
The deal also reflects CME Group’s ambition to reach a broader and more global audience. The White Sox are attracting younger and increasingly international fans, supported by record league revenues and growing viewership. CME Group is similarly expanding into new markets and client segments, particularly within retail.
Duffy said: “Together, we’ll deliver a compelling experience that appeals to our current and prospective clients while elevating both brands.”
Both organisations also highlighted their shared commitment to the greater Chicago community, positioning the partnership as one rooted not only in global reach, but local impact.
