Brazilian neobank Nu has partnered with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, as it looks to extend its footprint across Latin America and support its next phase of growth.
The multi-year partnership, which comes into effect ahead of the 2026 season, makes Nu an official team partner.
Formula One’s global scale and premium positioning offer the digital financial services platform a high-visibility platform to build brand awareness and cultural relevance, with the sport reaching more than 827 million fans worldwide.
With strong followings in Latin America and the US, the partnership aligns with Nu’s long-term expansion strategy while delivering immediate value in core markets such as Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, where Formula One has a long-standing presence and highly engaged fan bases.
Cristina Junqueira, co-founder, chief growth officer and CEO of Nu’s emerging US business, said: “F1 is one of the few truly global fan platforms, and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is a defining force in the sport, with an unparalleled track record,
“This partnership gives us a powerful opportunity to connect with hundreds of millions of fans in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, the United States and beyond.”
Founded in 2013, Nu positions itself as a challenger to traditional banking built on the belief that people deserve better financial services. That same pursuit of excellence defines Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS, which is one of the most successful teams in Formula One history, with eight Constructors’ World Championships and nine Drivers’ World Championships.
The deal will include a mix of on-track and off-track branding and fan activations, featuring drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, alongside CEO and team principal Toto Wolff.
Junqueira added: “We are looking forward to joining forces with the Mercedes F1 Team to leverage Nu’s customer-centricity, technology platform and innovation to deliver premium access and incredible digital experiences that bring fans closer to the action. Building a global brand is a multi-year journey, and there is much more to come.”
