U.S. Bank has partnered with Netflix for a sponsorship deal that will see the bank’s branding embedded into the Happy Gilmore 2 film, marking its first Hollywood integration.
Under the agreement, U.S. Bank will serve as the title sponsor of the fictional Tour Championship golf tournament in the sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 sports comedy, which premiered on Netflix on July 25.
As the fictional title sponsor, U.S. Bank’s logo is prominently displayed on banners and signage throughout the film. Additionally, the logo features on the bib worn by Happy Gilmore’s caddy, portrayed by musician Bad Bunny.
In addition to the in-film sponsorship, U.S. Bank has teamed up with Netflix on a joint marketing campaign to promote the partnership.
The campaign’s centerpiece is a 30-second hero spot titled “Happy As Usual,” set inside a U.S. Bank branch, which will air on social media and television.
The ad features professional golfer and U.S. Bank brand ambassador Collin Morikawa, alongside original Happy Gilmore commentators Verne Lundquist and Jack Beard.
The sponsorship deal is designed to help U.S. Bank connect with young and mid-level affluent audiences and position the company as a trusted financial partner.
