With the Women’s Euros set to kick off in Switzerland, UBS has deepened its commitment for youth women’s football.
UBS’ ‘Turning dreams into opportunities’ initiative aims to help the thousands of girls who wish to become football players turn their dreams into reality.
Through UBS Football for Girls, UBS is building on its support for the existing “Doppelpass” and “UEFA Playmakers” programmes with new events and increased funding.
These initiatives give girls across Switzerland a chance to experience football for the first time and help drive the development of girls’ football.
A key new feature of the project is the Kickstart toolbox, which developed in partnership with the Swiss Football Association. The toolbox is designed to help schools and clubs introduce girls to football and includes practical tips, exercise booklets with 25 drills, themed cards, posters and stickers to spark enthusiasm and support early engagement.
The initiative builds on UBS’s long-standing partnership with the Swiss Football Association, which began with Credit Suisse in 1993. The bank is the main partner of all junior and senior national teams in both men’s and women’s football, as well as the national beach soccer and eFootball teams, and youth development across Switzerland.
UBS also aims to extend its message of empowerment beyond football and support anyone who believes in themselves, seeks growth and pursues their goals with passion.
The bank seeks to do this through various routes. For example, through the Women’s Wealth Academy, it helps women build financial confidence and knowledge.
In addition, as presenting partner of SwissSkills, it backs young professionals in their career development. UBS also promotes youth athletics through various initiatives and projects for children and teenagers.
