Deutsche Bank and Berliner Philharmoniker have announced an extended partnership, until 2030.
For the past 35 years, the bank and prestigious orchestra have shared a creative vision, and through the partnership are able to inspire global audiences through music, foster cultural participation, and to drive innovation.
Christian Sewing, CEO at Deutsche Bank, noted the distinctiveness of the collaboration in the banking industry.
“We are proud to continue this unique partnership. No other company supports a world-class orchestra at this level, across all continents. Our partnership reflects our commitment to reliability and excellence, both in Germany and globally,” said Sewing.
The collaboration has seen several milestones over the decades, such as an award-winning education programme launched in 2002, which introduces classical music to diverse audiences, aiming to nurture creativity and social inclusion.
In line with the wider mission of overcoming borders and making classical music accessible to a wide audience, the bank supported a digital concert hall during its early years, enabling live streams of concerts from the Berliner Philharmoniker via the Internet.
Looking forward, the extension will foster a new project, “Vokalhelden”, shining a fresh focus on the education programme and giving young singers an opportunity to create music together.
