London Market Group (LMG) is the latest insurance group to launch a programme dedicated to emerging talent in the industry.
Thirty firms within the (re)insurance community will come together to promote specialty insurance in an “Apprenticeship Discovery” programme.
The new project follows the success of its summer programme, “Future Academy,” which was oversubscribed for by several hundred percent.
As momentum surrounding the success of apprenticeship schemes becomes increasingly evident, more firms are getting involved, said Sean McGovern, chair of LMG and CEO at Axa XL.
“Three quarters of the firms participating are taking part for the first time, and that offers students even more choice.
“The power of market collaboration is demonstrated when you see firms across the London market coming together to showcase what we have to offer, with real job opportunities at the end of the programme,” said McGovern.
The long-term, broader goal of the scheme is to shift the age profile of the London Market, where more workers are over fifty than under thirty.
The programme is a three-day event discussing market activities and will be delivered to 65 students.
The London Market is the largest global hub for commercial and specialty risk insurance.
