RBC Global Asset Management has stepped up as the lead‑out partner for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Ride, with Jean‑François Thibault, Director of Corporate Communications, among the colleagues taking part in the high‑profile fundraising event.
The partnership illustrates RBC’s long‑standing commitment to supporting cancer research and community health initiatives. For the firm, backing the Ride aligns with its broader purpose-led strategy and its belief that financial institutions have a responsibility to contribute to societal wellbeing.
“Like many, cancer has touched several close family members – including my dad, who passed away in 2023 following a long battle with oesophageal cancer,” Thibault said on LinkedIn.
“This year, I’m riding to raise money for palliative care, a cause that became deeply personal after witnessing the extraordinary compassion and support my dad received in his final days.”
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Ride is Canada’s largest cycling fundraiser and one of the most significant events supporting life‑saving cancer research at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Scheduled for 13–14 June 2026, the Ride offers six route options and welcomes cyclists of all abilities, including those using e‑bikes.
Participants receive fundraising guidance, training support and on‑route assistance to help them complete the challenge successfully. While each rider has a personal motivation, all share the same ambition: contributing to a future free from the fear of cancer.
Thibault’s involvement reflects a growing trend of financial services leaders engaging directly in charitable endurance events, using their platforms to amplify awareness and fundraising impact.
RBC’s role as lead‑out partner further cements its position as a corporate champion for health‑related causes, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to community investment across its global footprint.
RBC supports a broad portfolio of global charitable initiatives, with a particular focus on youth, mental health and community wellbeing. Through programmes such as the RBC Foundation and the long‑running RBC Race for the Kids series, the organisation funds education, healthcare, and social development projects across multiple regions.
The firm also invests heavily in environmental and sustainability causes, backing conservation efforts and climate‑focused research through partnerships with universities, NGOs and community organisations.
