Lloyds has become the first official back-of-shirt partner for England Rugby’s men’s and women’s senior teams as part of a new multi-year partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
The agreement will see the Lloyds Black Horse logo feature on the back of England shirts and anthem jackets, with Lloyds also becoming the RFU’s Official Banking Partner.
The partnership will involve a significant investment in the future of English rugby, with a focus extending from grassroots clubs through to the international game.
Lloyds will support initiatives aimed at improving the sustainability and facilities of local rugby clubs, as well as programmes designed to introduce tens of thousands of young people to the sport.
The partnership will also support digital transformation projects across the game, with further details of the initiatives expected to be announced in 2027.
Lloyds, which serves more than 28 million customers and has relationships with around one million businesses, said the partnership would provide an opportunity to support communities and the wider rugby ecosystem.
RFU CEO Bill Sweeney said: “This is a truly significant partnership for the RFU and marks an important moment for rugby in England.”
He added that the relationship would extend beyond visibility on the England shirt, with both organisations sharing an ambition to grow the game from grassroots level and create more opportunities for people to participate in rugby.
