BNP Paribas Asset Management has implemented a new organisational structure as it looks to accelerate growth and deliver its 2030 strategic plan.
The asset manager, which oversees more than €1.7 trillion in assets under management, said the new model will help it leverage the scale and capabilities of its expanded business while strengthening support for institutional, insurance, retail and wealth clients.
The reorganisation introduces dedicated business lines across alternatives, investments and client coverage, alongside enhanced strategic, operational and transformation functions.
BNPP AM’s alternatives business will continue to be led by Isabelle Scemama, Deputy CEO of BNPP AM and Head of BNPP AM Alts, supported by Deputy Head of BNPP AM Alts Deborah Shire.
The division combines investment expertise and client coverage across real estate, infrastructure, alternative credit and private equity, with ambitions to expand its investment offering, increase third-party fundraising and broaden access to alternative investment solutions.
Meanwhile, the investments business, led by Global Head of Investments Rob Gambi, brings together the firm’s fixed income, active equity, multi-asset, systematic and quantitative investment capabilities.
BNPP AM said the platform is designed to support the development of new investment solutions while accelerating growth across active management and ETFs.
The firm has also created a dedicated Global Client Group Liquid Strategies business under Steven Billiet, focused on strengthening relationships across institutional, insurance, retail and wealth segments while improving commercial coordination across markets and product lines.
Supporting the new structure are several enhanced transversal functions, including strategic partnerships, transformation, sustainability, operations, communications and human resources.
Among the appointments is Marie Bogataj, who will lead Communications and Brand as Chief Communications and Brand Officer.
The function will focus on strengthening BNPP AM’s positioning as a European asset management leader, building its global reputation and driving employee engagement.
The company has also established a dedicated Transformation Office, led by Chief Transformation Officer Patrick Simion.
The office will oversee the execution of strategic priorities while harnessing AI, technology, digital assets and tokenisation capabilities to improve efficiency and accelerate innovation.
BNPP AM said approximately 200 management appointments have been made as part of the new structure, with further nominations expected over the coming months.
To support strategic decision-making, the asset manager has also established a new Executive Board chaired by Chief Executive Officer Sandro Pierri.
Commenting on the changes, Pierri said the firm’s strategic plan had set out a clear vision for future growth.
“Our new organisational model will enable us to go even further in delivering for our clients and accelerating execution and delivery of our strategic priorities,” he said.
“It gives us the scale and capabilities to deepen our relationships, leverage the full strength of the BNP Paribas Group and create long-term value for our clients.”
The changes mark a significant milestone in BNPP AM’s integration programme and form a key part of its plans to deliver against its 2030 growth strategy.
