Air India and Standard Chartered have partnered to combine premium airline loyalty benefits with international banking and wealth management services for affluent Global Indian clients.
The proposition, expected to launch in the coming weeks, will initially target eligible Standard Chartered customers in Singapore and the UAE.
Eligible clients will receive Air India’s Maharaja Club Gold or Silver status, offering benefits including additional baggage allowance, priority check-in and boarding, airport lounge access, upgrade vouchers and bonus Maharaja Points.
Gold members will also receive Star Alliance Gold status, providing access to more than 1,000 airport lounges worldwide, alongside priority airport services and additional baggage benefits across the alliance’s member airlines.
The partnership will also give eligible Air India customers access to Standard Chartered’s international banking and wealth management services through its wealth centres in Singapore and the UAE.
Services will include dedicated relationship management, investment insights from the bank’s Chief Investment Office, invitations to exclusive events and tailored wealth solutions for customers with cross-border financial needs.
Rajesh Kannan, Head of Wealth and Retail Banking, UAE & Jersey, and Head of Global Indian Clients at Standard Chartered, said the partnership would combine the two brands’ international networks to support customers’ travel, business and financial needs.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India, said the agreement would help expand Maharaja Club across key international markets while strengthening the airline’s relationship with the global Indian community.
