Accounting and tax advisory firm MGroup has secured the naming rights to Oxford City’s Court Place Farm stadium.
The 3,100 capacity venue – home of Oxford City Football Club – is to be renamed the MGroup Stadium as part of the deal.
The announcement has been timed to coincide with the relocation of the accountancy firm’s new headquarters to Oxford Office Village.
“We are excited to deepen our roots in Oxfordshire through this partnership with Oxford City FC,” a company spokesman said in a statement.
“Supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do, and this is also a fantastic opportunity to involve the three local charities we proudly support. We look forward to seeing The MGroup Stadium become a thriving space for players, fans, businesses, and families alike.”
The firm is hopeful that the sponsorship will underscore its commitment to investment in the Oxford business district and surrounding areas.
A spokesperson for Oxford City said the sponsorship would enable the football club to invest, benefitting both fans and the local community, adding that the values of the club are closely reflected in those of MGroup.
“This is a very positive time for the club, as we work alongside the University of Oxford and see women’s football thriving at all levels, alongside our efforts with youth sides and disabled teams and leagues.
“The MGroup shares our core values, and our goal is to make The MGroup Stadium a place where players of all ages and abilities love to participate and watch sport in a friendly, welcoming environment.”
