Money Matters by AJ Bell has launched a new website as part of its initiative to attract younger women to investing.
The website provides a platform for women with an interest in finance to access resources, podcasts, and free events.
The launch follows AJ Bell’s analysis of HMRC data, finding that only 35% of young stocks and shares ISA investors are women.
Baroness Helena Morrissey, founding ambassador of Money Matters, said Money Matters aims to shed light on the current barriers stopping women from investing and promote discussions around money.
“We want women to be armed with all the information and inspiration to take action with their money, whether that’s saving more, engaging with their pension or starting to invest.
The new website collates all this information into one place, as well as giving people the ability to sign up to our newsletter, to receive their monthly dose of investing inspiration,” said Morrissey.
AJ Bell’s research also noted that women tend to stick to cash rather than investments, with women owning 56% of cash ISAs.
According to a press release by AJ Bell, saving cash rather than investing can lead to a loss of £22,000 over a period of 10 years.
Money Matters by AJ Bell has partnered with Smart Works, a UK charity providing women with the confidence they need to secure employment.
