Alliant Insurance Services has launched its third consecutive athlete campaign at the US Open, highlighting the growing role of insurance and risk management in professional sport.
The Alliant Champions Greatness campaign will see the insurance broker support selected professional tennis players during their matches, as the firm continues to expand its presence across the sports industry.
Alliant said professional sports organisations are increasingly exposed to complex risks, spanning cyber threats, major venue projects, employment practices, contractual obligations and reputational issues.
Peter Arkley, president of national brokerage at Alliant, said the strategic approach used by sports organisations to prepare for potential disruption can also be applied across other industries.
The campaign forms part of Alliant’s wider investment in professional sport. The firm is also the official commercial insurance broker for MLS teams including San Diego FC, Nashville SC and Sporting Kansas City.
Alongside its commercial business, Alliant Private Client is expanding its Sports & Entertainment practice, providing insurance and risk management services to professional and rookie athletes and entertainers.
Cindy Zobian, executive vice president and managing director at Alliant Private Client, said professional athletes are increasingly building businesses and brands alongside their sporting careers, creating additional financial and personal risks.
