Axa has extended its global distribution partnership with digital travel booking platform Trip.com, launching a new travel insurance product available uniquely to Trip.com customers.
The Travel Smart product will be available to customers booking flights on Trip.com’s website or mobile app or can be purchased separately for standalone journeys. Trip.com customers will also be able to manage policies and claims through the “Emma by Axa” app.
The original partnership between Axa and Trip.com started in Asia in 2015, but is now global, including European and US travellers.
“This collaboration is a significant milestone and symbolises our ongoing commitment to offering the highest level of service and support to our clients,” said Adelane Mecellem, regional chief executive officer at Axa Partners.
“Thiis collaboration will enable us to leverage our collective expertise to offer advances travel products solutions and elevate the service experience for travellers.”
Trip.com said the partnership is the latest example of the company’s focus on “outstanding customer experience.”
“Through our partnership with Axa, a renowned global insurance company, we have enhanced our offerings by integrating a variety of insurance plan options into our one-stop travel platform,” said Zhe Wang, vice president of Trip.com.
Customers making purchases through the Trip.com platform will be able to do so in one click, with a choice of three plan options – One-way Trip, Round-trip Lite and Round-trip Deluxe.
The products offer comprehensive insurance tailored to the needs of each traveller, including coverage for medical expenses and personal accidents, personal liability, baggage, trip delays, and trip cancellations due to adverse weather conditions.
