Bank of America has appointed football icon Sir David Beckham as the new ambassador for its global sports programme, Sports with Us.
Under the multi-year partnership, Beckham will help showcase the bank’s full roster of sports collaborations, spanning major brands and events designed to drive progress, celebrate achievement and support local communities.
To announce the partnership, Bank of America released an interview with Beckham, who explains that the relationship is rooted in the shared ambition to use sport to create a real impact in society.
The partnership seeks to help young people achieve their goals on and off the pitch.
In the video, Beckham said: “When we believe in our young people and give them vital access to coaching and facilities, we can start to unlock their potential.”
David Tyrie, president, marketing, digital and specialised consumer client solutions, added: “Sir David’s work to support communities around the world and his passion for helping others excel, achieve and participate in sports are second to none. He shares our drive to connect and empower people through sport.”
Sports with Us is built on a commitment to inspire, connect and make a positive impact through sport. The programme expands on Bank of America’s long-standing investment in initiatives that boost participation, wellbeing and opportunities for young people across the US, while also delivering meaningful economic benefits.
From 2026 onwards, the bank will back a series of major sporting moments including the FIFA World Cup, the Boston Marathon, the Masters Tournament and Augusta National Women’s Amateur and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
