Citizens Advice – the British free-at-use consumer rights charity – has launched its first ever brand campaign designed to raise awareness of the support it offers.
The campaign has been designed to show Citizens Advice in its role as the people’s champion, working with members of the public through a national network of advisers, during periods of difficulty such as in instances where individuals struggle with financial debts and decisions.
While the charity has been in existence for 85 years, it is the first time that it has invested in marketing its services in this way.
“Almost everyone knows our name, but how many people really know what we do?” asked Clare Moriarty, chief executive of Citizens Advice.
“ Our brand new campaign video says a lot about that in less than a minute, including the important fact that we’re a charity. Which seems to be surprisingly little known.”
In a post on social media, the company said it wanted to become more widely recognised for being a charity that works for the whole of society, which is supported by volunteers.
“We are here when you need us. We are helping to build a fairer society for everyone. We are the people’s champion.”
The charity’s video includes case studies of individuals looking for support with debt management, finding a home, managing energy bills and working with policymakers.
