Chief marketing officers from Discover Financial Services and US Bank have been appointed to the new board of the Ad Council.
In a media statement, the US-based social action focussed non-profit said it had appointed Jennifer Murillo, CMO at Discover, Michael Lacorazza, CMO at US Bank and Davang Shah, VP of marketing at LinkedIn to this year’s Ad Council board of directors. The board is chaired by Tara Walpert Levy, YouTube’s VP for the Americas region.
The organisation, which was founded 82 years ago, is comprised of senior marketing, media, and business leaders who provide insights, expertise, and financial support to ensure the Ad Council’s social impact campaigns are effective and drive change.
Recent areas of focus include gun violence prevention, mental health, drugs overdosing and educational campaigns relating to Covid 19 during the pandemic.
Brendan Spain, the Financial Times’ VP of advertising for the Americas region was also announced as one of seven new members to the leadership council.
“The Ad Council’s board of directors and leadership council are integral to the success of our social impact efforts, expanding our ability to influence progress at significant scale,” Lisa Sherman, president and CEO of the Ad Council said.
“The difference we can make with the commitment of these outstanding leaders and their dedication to driving positive change together is truly inspiring.”
