Coventry City has made its first outing with Coventry Building Society as the club’s back-of-shirt sponsor for the 2023/24 season.
The Sky Blues’ new shirts were worn for the first time on 18 July at a pre-season friendly match against Forest Green, with the building society’s logo displayed on the back.
An initial one-year deal was agreed for the sponsorship, extending the ongoing relationship between the football club and the mortgage and savings provider.
Tynan Scope, head of commercial at Coventry City, said: “They [Coventry City] are a long-standing supporter of the City’s football club, and our relationship is continuing to develop and increase, so it’s great that they are continuing that with this sponsorship.”
Jon Badger, head of sponsorship at Coventry Building Society, said: “We can now proudly say we have the back of the Sky Blues – and the Sky Blue Army – away from home, as well as at the Coventry Building Society Arena.”
The partnership builds on the support Coventry Building Society provided the club last season, when it sponsored the training kits and the walk-out jackets for the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Coventry Building Society also showed its commitment to the club by sponsoring its stadium since 2021, which was renamed Coventry Building Society Arena when the club returned to the stadium.
The stadium was formerly named the Ricoh Arena, since it was opened in 2005.
