Wealth management firm Evelyn Partners has become the founding partner of the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s new compassion in Financial Services Hub.
Edinburgh Futures Institute is a space for learning, research, and innovation at the University of Edinburgh, delivering education and collaborative partnerships with key sectors such as financial services to tackle challenges through better use and understanding of data.
Its new ‘Compassion in Financial Services Hub’ has the ambition to create a more inclusive, sustainable and compassionate financial system by linking up key stakeholders from the sector with policymakers, academics, communities, and civil society.
By supporting the financial services sector and the companies within it as they strive to meet their ethical and long-term business goals, the Hub hopes to contribute to a more just, sustainable, and inclusive economy.
The Future Institute’s efforts to evolve the future of financial services aligns with the wealth manager’s guiding principle to inspire its clients to consider ‘what’s next?’.
Andrew Middleton, group chief marketing and commercial officer at Evelyn Partners, said: “The partnership underpins our promise to “inspire what’s next?” and we look forward to collaborating with the Institute on our shared ambition to create a more inclusive, more sustainable and more compassionate Financial Services sector for the future.”
Evelyn Partner’s philanthropic support for the Futures Institute will enable the Hub to conduct foundational research, collaborate on student-led projects and organise outreach activities.
The wealth manager will have a dedicated desk located in the Futures Institute’s FinTech ward co-location space and will host practitioner-led events in the building.
Tobi Schneider, co-director, Compassion in Financial Services Hub and sector engagement lead at Edinburgh Futures Institute, said: “We welcome Evelyn Partners as an early stage Founding Partner of the Compassion in Financial Services Hub.
“This partnership will allow us to build initial capacity in the Hub and to develop a roadmap of activities. It also reflects a shared vision for sustainable system change by fostering practices that prioritise societal wellbeing, inclusivity, and sustainability. We are grateful for the support and look forward to working with Evelyn Partners to drive meaningful change in the financial services industry.”
