Why are programmes like the FP awards important for the industry?
Too often the marketing function and the excellent people who make the magic happen are unrecognised.
It’s important that the industry acknowledges the creativity, strategic thinking and skill that goes into all aspects of financial services – including marketing and comms.
What excites you most about judging this year’s awards?
With AI nipping at our heels, marketing executives have had to step up to show their worth.
This has been reflected in some of the brilliant campaigns I’ve seen over the last 12 months and I’m looking forward to hearing about more of them.
What separates a good entry from a great entry?
A good entry explains how the individual has supported the business’ objectives. A great entry demonstrates flair, a new angle and crucially, how the individual has worked with the wider team to achieve their goals.
What role does creativity play in financial services marketing?
Creativity is essential to achieve cut-through and genuinely resonate with your target audiences.
If you could give entrants once piece of advice what would it be?
Check the criteria!
And also get a colleague to review your submission, now is not the time for modesty.
What does the future of financial services marketing look like to you?
More creativity, better use of different channels and harnessing AI to deliver more for less.
Finally, what’s one word you hope describes this year’s winners?
Entrepreneurial.
