HSBC has unveiled a new global brand film designed to bring its long-standing partnership positioning to life through the world of big wave surfing.
The campaign, developed in collaboration with creative and production partners including VML, Omnicom Media and Superprime Films, was filmed in Tahiti and uses the sport’s extreme conditions to explore themes of trust, resilience and collaboration.
According to the team behind the project, capturing the film required navigating waves reaching up to 26 feet, making it one of the more technically demanding brand shoots undertaken for the campaign.
The film is set to run across digital, streaming and in-flight channels globally as HSBC continues to invest in large-scale brand activity aimed at reinforcing its international positioning.
The project highlights how financial services brands are increasingly turning to cinematic storytelling and high-production-value content to differentiate themselves in a crowded marketplace, moving beyond traditional corporate advertising to create more emotionally resonant campaigns.
