Liberty International Insurance has completed its Asia Pacific licence consolidation and simplified its brand to “Liberty” in key markets.
The business has unified its retail and commercial underwriting units in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China.
It now operates as one Liberty licensed entity in each of these markets. The unified operations now trade under the Liberty brand in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. Existing brands continue in Malaysia, India and China.
The Hong Kong licence consolidation is now also complete, bringing Liberty Insurance and Liberty Specialty Markets under one insurance licence in Hong Kong.
The change follows several regional updates introduced on 1 January 2026.
“2026 is a pivotal year for us across Asia Pacific. We’ve achieved our goal to streamline our general insurance operations as one Liberty in each market,” said Matthew Jackson, President of Asia Pacific.
“Moving to the Liberty brand is fundamental to simplifying the way we present to our agents, broker partners and clients,” he said.
He noted that the brand aligns with Liberty Mutual’s advertising and marketing in the United States. He said the changes will deliver benefits including broader product access, specialised expertise and efficient service.
Operating as one Liberty in each market enables the company to offer a wide range of general insurance products. These products include personal lines, commercial insurance and bespoke solutions for major construction projects. They also include solutions for corporate clients and government entities.
Singapore now operates as Liberty Pte Limited after completing its business unification. Malaysia has streamlined all general insurance operations under Liberty General Insurance Berhad. China now transacts renewal and new commercial reinsurance business through Liberty Insurance.
The brand simplification reflects Liberty’s commitment to a more seamless experience for customers and partners. The company is supported by the strength of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group. Liberty Mutual is a Fortune Global 500 company with more than 40,000 employees in 27 countries and economies.
