Insurance group Markel International is launching a new podcast series to showcase the work of its people in claims, underwriting and operations.
Entitled “Markel Meets”, the podcast will look at market dynamics, product launches and the evolving market proposition.
The series kicks off next week (w.b. 8 July) and will feature Chris Burgess, director of Cyber, Graeme Ivory, director, International Casualty, Chris O’Shea, managing director, International Claims and Chloe Gordge, head of terrorism.
“Launching next week on all major platforms, episode one features a senior underwriter building out our international casualty book of business,” the company announced on LinkedIn.
As well as featuring senior figures discussing topical market issues, the podcast series includes interviews with Markel colleagues on their career journey, hobbies outside of work and the broader views on the wider London insurance market.
Markel International has been strengthening its marketing team in recent months, appointing Anna Lumley as director of wholesale marketing in April 2023 from Tata Consulting Services. Lumley previously worked as a Marcomms campaign lead at Beazley.
James Gilbert joined Markel International as content marketing manager for the wholesale division in January 2024, having previously worked at investment group Gresham House as an associate director before that.
At the end of last year Markel Group said it had achieved substantial new business growth across several product lines, especially in its personal lines and property division.
