Metro Bank has re-established itself as a “community bank” through its long-term partnership with Silver Sunday.
On Sunday 1 October, the retail and commercial bank will host in-store events in support of the day, which was originally designed to help elderly people tackle loneliness and isolation.
The annual event is the “national day for older people” and is now celebrated by over 1,000 events across the country.
Emma Sutton, head of events at Metro Bank, said colleagues will also visit local retirement homes to connect with the residents in their local community.
“We are known for our people-people banking and understand the importance of being able to talk to someone face to face.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone who wants to come along to our participating stores and enjoy some company over a cuppa,” said Sutton.
Metro Bank’s premise is built on “people-people banking” and promises to “do banking differently.”
At its launch in 2010, Metro Bank was the first new high-street bank in over 100 years.
Silver Sunday will host a variety of events over the weekend, including in-person and online coffee mornings.
