Nationwide Building Society has announced a new partnership with Action for Children, where it will bolster donations made to the charity in the lead up to Christmas.
The mutual says it will double customer donations up to £100,000 as part of the charity drive which is part of its Fairer Futures campaign.
“Christmas is a time for giving – not just to friends and family but also to charity,” Charlotte Kensett, director of Social Impact at Nationwide, said.
“Our research shows, more than four in ten people would consider reducing spend on presents in order to give more to good causes.
“We encourage anyone who can, to support Action for Children’s Secret Santa campaign to give vulnerable children and families hope and support at this time of year.”
Donations to the charity will be used to provide gifts, food and clothes to vulnerable children across the UK through its Secret Santa initiative.
“As a mutual, we work for the good of society as well as for the good of our members,” Kensett explained.
“Our social impact programme, Nationwide Fairer Futures, aims to change hundreds of thousands of lives for the better.”
Last year the charity supported 687,755 vulnerable children through the initiative, which it is hoping to beat in the 2024 drive. The charity runs 372 services in local communities across the UK.
