Evy Williams, one of Rhotic Media’s rising stars, has been named Best Newcomer at the 2026 State Street UK Institutional Press Awards, marking a major milestone in a career that began less than three years ago.
Williams [pictured, left] joined Rhotic Media in August 2023 as a degree apprentice, quickly distinguishing herself with a sharp eye for detail, a natural instinct for storytelling and an ability to translate complex financial topics into compelling journalism.
Her rapid progression has seen her become a writer for Capital Pioneer and an editor within Rhotic Media’s client media division, roles in which she has consistently delivered high‑quality reporting.
Her win was announced yesterday (30 April 2026) at State Street’s annual awards ceremony in London, which recognises excellence across institutional financial services journalism.
The Best Newcomer category celebrates emerging journalists who have made a significant impact early in their careers, and Williams’ work stood out to the independent judging panel for its clarity, accuracy and strong editorial voice.
Now in their 24th year, the State Street UK Institutional Press Awards honour journalists covering key areas such as pensions, regulation, investments, capital markets, private markets, technology and sustainable finance.
Judges praised this year’s winners for their contribution to a “thriving media ecosystem” and their commitment to delivering timely, insightful reporting across the institutional landscape.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year’s award recipients and nominees for their outstanding dedication and impact within our industry,” commented Ann Prendergast, head of EMEA for State Street Investment Management.
“A thriving media ecosystem is vital for the sector, and it’s our pleasure to recognise the contributions of all the nominees for this year’s awards.”
