Skipton Building Society has partnered with agency 72Point to transform a Yorkshire pub into a dedicated members’ venue, featuring a surprise appearance from The Chase star Jenny Ryan.
The Castle Inn in Skipton became the ‘Skipton Members’ Pub’ for one day, with Ryan, known as The Vixen on ITV’s quiz show, hosting a quiz featuring general knowledge, music and local trivia.
The activation was designed to celebrate the Society’s membership model and give customers an opportunity to connect with one another and the organisation in an informal, community-focused setting.
Members also took part in a special round inspired by research commissioned by Skipton Building Society, with questions covering topics including mortgage rates, ISAs and everyday knowledge.
The research, conducted by OnePoll among 2,000 UK adults, found that 52% said pubs remain at the heart of local communities, while 67% of those respondents said pubs are important because they bring people together.
The study also found that 76% of respondents considered membership of groups, clubs and other organisations important, with building friendships and meeting like-minded people among the reasons cited.
