Technology firm Thales’ Digital Identity and Security arm showcased its sustainable card offering at this year’s Seamless Berlin 2023.
The firm used the event to build on its long-established economic, social, and governance (ESG) approach, and display its sustainable credit and debit cards to big banks, financial organisations, and individual consumers.
Christine Blattes, banking & payment solution marketing manager at Thales, said the organisation was pushing its wood cards – containing no plastic – alongside its recycled cards and cards made with plastic from the ocean at this year’s event.
“The wood card is a demonstration of your eagerness to protect the planet,” said Blattes.
“The other big thing is the metal card. It’s on the runway, just taking off. We’re expecting big growth,” said Ant Lloyd-Perks, digital sales director at Thales.
The metal card is a way to demonstrate to your high-net-worth customers that you offer a premium service, added Lloyd-Perks.
“The metal card is an emotive thing – it says a lot about you.”
Seamless Europe 2023 was held in Berlin on 18–19 October.
