Zopa Bank has enlisted the help of influencers to unveil an edible bank card, celebrating the launch of its ‘Biscuit’ current account.
At the heart of the campaign is a video starring food critic Grace Dent. She samples the edible Biscuit card while highlighting the account’s benefits, before using it to pay the bill.
Alongside Dent, Zopa partnered with 12 influencers to create videos promoting the new account. Some received ingredient kits to bake their own edible cards, while others were sent ready-made biscuit cards with working chips to use in everyday situations.
The edible biscuit card not only plays on the name of the new account but also seeks to symbolise the “delicious value” and “temptingly tasty rates” customers can enjoy.
The use of influencers in the digital-first campaign aims to engage a wider audience.
The launch of the Biscuit current account marks Zopa Bank’s debut in everyday banking. With this move, Zopa enters direct competition with both digital challengers like Revolut and Monzo, and high street giants such as HSBC, Lloyds, NatWest, and Barclays.
